Walk with me!
I am very excited and honored to be part of the team organizing the 32nd Annual Walk for Hospice. In my position at Care Dimensions, I am priveleged to see the impact that funds raised have on patients and families. It is meaningful to me personally and professionally to put on this incredible Walk. Seeing thousands of people come together in support of one another, to honor the memory of loved ones and to thank caregivers is truly inspiring. Every patient and family traversing this challenging journey should receive expert care and comfort wherever they call home. Care Dimensions raises funds to ensure that every patient and family receives all programs and services regardless of ability to pay.
I lost my wondferful Mom, Estelle Lourie on March 13th. She was a hospice patient in Florida for over 15 months. I saw directly how much she benefitted from the incredible compassion and care that hospice gives. She suffered greatly from pain and her music therapist made such a difference. One day she rang the doorbell and I said that my mom was having a very bad day and maybe she should come another day. The therapist said "I can help" and she came in and began to play and sing. Slowly, my mom's anxiety and pain diminished and her face relaxed. She also received many visits from the Chapliain. Pastor Dale brought my mom a sense of peace and faith that was so very ciritical at this time of her life. I believe she lived longer and certainly better for having been in hospice. Many of these services including pet therapy, music therapy, volunteer services and bereavement support are only possible from fundraising. Care Dimensions cares for 1200 hospice and palliative care patients daily. Your support will help provide services to these patients and their families in 95 communities, whether they are at home, in a skilled nursing facility or in one of our 2 hospice houses. Funds raised support all our services including Bereavement care which is free of charge to anyone in the community, whether or not their loved one was in the care of our organization.
Please join my team, walk with me, or support this cause. I am grateful for your consideration.
Lots of love to you all.
